Smile In the Quest for Hi Gain, Delay and Synth Sounds

Hello guys, I didn't want to make a whole new thread but since it's kinda little info on the EHX Micro Synth, I did. hehe.

I've been searching up and down the forum for this info but I still have the need to ask you guys your opinions.

Question No. 1: I'm looking for a Hi-Gain distortion pedal, metal or nu metal, whatever. My options have been:
1. EHX Metal Muff: PROS: Great Price, Great EQ Options. CONS:Not True Bypass.

2. Krank Distortus Maximus: PROS: True Bypass, not that expensive, cool tones. CONS: It appears a little short of Gain, not that extreme sounding, it doesn't sound THAT modern, judging just from the clips.

3. MI Audio Tube Zone: Kinda the same concerns as the Krank pedal, but it seems more modern sounding. CONS: Not very thight, Pricier, although there are a couple on the emporium.

4. Damage Control Solid Metal: PROS: It seems really versatile, lots of gain, great EQ. CONS: Pricier, uglyyyyy (don't blame me), Gigantic, there's none on the emporium.

5. Righteous Tones FANG: PROS: Good EQ, True Bypass. CONS: 80'-sh voiced?, not too modern sounding, judging from clips.

Other options were the G2D Morpheus (pricey, not easy to get, not EQ), the EMMA ReezaFRATzitz (pricey and not EQ, also don't know if it has enough gain and modern voicing) OLC Circuits Slow Century (not enough gain, judging from the clips) and the Subdecay Blackstar (not that "ampy" sounding)

***man, this is gonna be a loooong post***

I plan on using it in front of a somewhat crunchy Peavey Windsor Head with a 4x12 cab (Marshall 1960s) BUT I wanna be able to get heavy tones from my clean SF fenders, so maybe a boost, ar SD-1 or whatever is kinda out of the question.

So, what do you guys recommend?

Question No. 2: Solved.

Question No. 3: I love synth and weird sounds and I'm thinking about getting an EHX Micro Synth, I'm looking, mostly, for a Synthy sound behind my lead sounds kinda like the this: http://www.mediafire.com/?zx42ozxtfto but a lot less subtle.

So can you mix the "synth wet" sound and the Dry sound on the Micro Synth?

Is there any cheap alternative to the Micro synth? maybe less bulky, with true bypass.. I don't know. Any suggestions?

------------------------------------------------
I use mostly strats right now and most of the time I play with the Peavey Windsor and a SF Twin Reverb or a SF Super Reverb.

Right know I use a Boss GT-6 for all the things listed above (Hi Gain, Delay and Synth)

My pedal chain goes like this: Blackstone OD > Zvex Vexter FF (mod'd for increased bass response) > Teese WOF Wah > CMATMODS Signa Comp > Boss GT-6 (in a true bypass loop) > AMPS.

Thanks in advance for any help and sorry for the mega-long post.

Cheers

ManCas

PS: I live in Colombia, so "try before buy" is out of the question, I have to make all of my purchases based solely on reviews and clips.

Bumpey before I go sleepey. I need help with this stuff guys.

On short words:
-Best modern hi gain pedal that sounds good in front of both a Peavey Windor Head (JCM800-ish) and a Twin Reverb?

-Best delay between a Freakshow Digilog and a DLS EchoTAP?

-Is the EHX Micro synth capable of doing this ("normal and synth at the same time) http://www.mediafire.com/?zx42ozxtfto but a little less subtle? Is there a cheap alternative to this?

Thanks a lot

Cheers

i can help you with number 3...

check out the Octasynth by Tweaktronix (SubDecay studios side project)

http://www.tweaktronix.com/

i just got one and it is super cool. the soundclip on the website will give you a decent idea of what it sounds like. it's basically an envelope filter plus an octave divider, and it can sound amazingly synthy, very much like some of the settings on the microsynth (which the bassist in my band uses). plus it's in tiny MXR sized box and true bypass!

thanks a lot Phlussy..

It says "out of stock" on the webpage... I'll keep looking, maybe they have a similar tonefactor or mojo hand pedal.

On the delay, I decided to go all out and get a used Diamond Memory Lane.....

Still looking for a distortion....
