Analogman Chorus; Stock vs.Deep Switch?
Hi there .... I love Mike`s work ...love my KOT ,Juicer, modded SD-9...But ,,,the chorus struck me as a little too phasey ...I`m still searching .
I`ve never heard Mike`s chorus w/ the deep switch ...Anyone care to comment on the differences ? I`m using a RetroSonic now but it darkens up my dry signal too much ...almost a keeper If it`s what I`m imagining based on the stock chorus ... it could be the one ...and thus the gas wars rage on |

I had a Bi-chorus with the "Deep" switch - I liked the stock tone much better and ended up never using the switch. I am not a big fan of over-the-top modulation, and the Deep switch was just too much for me. I ended up selling the pedal because the effect was just too thick for me, no way to dial it back - although I think if I had the hindsight, at the time, to opt for the mix knob that would have been the way to go.
But the stock tone is gorgeous! |

It just changes the delay time to a longer time. Some like it some don't. I made a small clone (clone) but instead of a switch, I used a pot to give a whole range of delay time. Personally, I like a shorter delay time chorus and very much enjoy my homemade chorus and a 12v Retro-Sonic chorus which is brighter than the 9v version that is out now. The deep setting (longer delay) would not be as warm sounding, and definitely less phasey, though more detuned sounding. From you description of what you are looking for, I think that you may like it.

Donner explaining the deep switch on a Bi ... imho $25 for the deep switch is not much for getting more versatility

the problem is i need to get the mini chorus enclosure to fit on my pedalboard, and i doesn't give you a switch option (can't fit in the small box). you gotta choose deep or normal voicing when you order the pedal
.. and thanks a lot for the link.. sounds like the deep option is what i 'm looking for..

The deep switch is a great option. It gives a excellent sounding product even more options. I can't imagine not having it.

I've got Mike's Mini-Chorus with normal voicing.
Best Chorus pedal i've ever heard when on & off. With both pots set to low it's a great lush chorus - not a bit phasey. Crank it up and it goes to a great lesley too.

I'd agree that going with the deep switch option is well worth it. :AOK

I got the mini-chorus because I felt that the mix knob would be more useful than the deep switch. I find that knob as/more useful as the speed and depth knobs!

100% agree! You've got to get the deep switch!
