They are kind of the "un-sung hero" of the Eminence line. People always seem to forget about the Legend series.

Good but a little stiff, dark to me. I'm about to try the Private Jacks which I've yet to read anything negative about. Clips are a little brighter, clearer as well. Roccaforte and Sommatone are using them.

They sound pretty well balanced to me and not stiff at all. Very much like Celestion greenbacks in my 2x12 Tone Tools cab. Good highs, nice mids, exactly what I was looking for. I bet they are even better when they break in a bit

Mine just poured out tone when they finally broke in. I liked them out of the box just like you and then one day ...

Sweetness.

They're close but the PJ's are even closer I think. Not knocking your GB's, just an FYI for those looking for a higher wattage GB - you have these two choices with Emi. Roc., Fargen, Andrews, Sommatone, etc. offer/use the PJ's after trying many/most/all Emi's and Celestions. You know they gotta be good.

I wasn't really looking for exact copies, just something that sounds good and is in the ball park. I have some English G12M Greenbacks and the GB's sound pretty close, and that's right out of the box. So forgetting about which is closer to an actual Greenie, what do you like better about the PJ?

Yup. Love mine (have 2 in one of these Mojotone cabs).

I find they have the sweet vintage vibe while not coloring the tone so much as Celestion GB's do, which makes better with more gain. Sound sweet with my Rivera's clean channel.

As a sidenote I also one of these

with v30/H30 combination. Would like to get rid of one cab since I almost never get to crank up my amps anymore, but can't decide which one to sell - this cab rocks for rock and metal, but the Bluesbreaker cab is the one if I find myself in a classic rock band.
