Pedal Power 2+ overload?

Last night before practice I changed one pedal on my board. I swaped my FL-9 with a Verbzilla on a diasy chain with an AD-9 and PS-3. After I did that my Verbzilla was blinking red and the light on my PS-3 was blinking too. It also cut off my signal. Is the PP2+ designed to do that if the mA is exceeded. The Verbzilla says it uses 70mA so I am assuming the PS-3 and AD-9 add up to more than 100mA's.

FL-9 10 ma. max
PS-3 70ma.
AD9 ?

That's weird because I doubt the AD-9 is drawing more than 10 mA.

EDIT: Oh wait, my bad I also have an AF-9 and TU-2 on that chain! I forgot it was a 5 pedal daisy chain. It's still strange that the PP2+ would react that way.

Try plugging your daisy chain into DC outputs 5 or 6 on the PP+. Those are the high current outputs (250mA each). Outputs 1-4 and 7 and 8 are 100mA outputs.

Yeah that would probably work fine. It was no big deal really because I just use the Verbzilla for fun and I don't use reverb live. I just thought the blinking lights were very strange and wondered if anybody else ever saw that happen.

Donald,

Yeah, you were pulling way too much out of that single output on the Pedal Power. Six of the eight outputs are rated at a maximum of 100mA. I'm guessing one of those is the one you daisy chained from. (There are two outputs that have 250mA for running the Line 6 4x4 modelers like the DL4.)

Here's a list of what the average mA draw is for the pedals you listed:

Verbzilla 70mA
AD-9 20mA
PS-3 70mA

YIKES!

There's a bit of headroom for going over 100mA if needed on a Pedal Power, but you definitely passed it by adding the Verbzilla last minute. I'd say to be safe, I'd only run the PS-3 and the AD-9 together.

Wow I didn't know the PS-3 pulled 70mA too!

I definetly exceeded the 100 mA limit. If I removed either the Verb or the PS-3 it worked fine. Good thing I didn't fry anything. I won't try that again!
