78 bass spec 50, in an early curved lip 50 w box. Sitting on a ex-Minor Threat 4-12". Barely warmed, Mullards, and TungSol 6550s.
Sounds obscene.....

That's badass.

Do any of you guys know what a late 70's (e.g. 1978) JMP 50 watt should cost? I might have the opportunity to get one from someone I know, but was curious what they should go for? This one is all original, no mods, excellent cosmetically.

Something clean & stock is probably in the $800-1100 range today.

Great! Thanks for the info. It's the strangest thing- I started out in the mid 80's with my first Marshall (loved it and miss it now) and I've gone full circle with modeling amps, other brands, boutique amps, and now I'm finding myself really realizing after 20 years, I'm really a Marshall guy.

Time to think about selling/trading my boutique amps and get back into a nice crunchy JMP!!!

From the ones I've played, I like the JMP's better than the JCM800's .

I played a vintage Park head that killed all of them, though.
