Questions for Eh holy grail + owners

I'm thinking about diving into the Holy Grail plus. I really only have two questions. Does it suck tone or retain it well? Are there any volume drops or boosts when engaged? I just need a nice warm reverb pedal.

I think it's a great pedal. I don't notice any tone suck, but I use a buffer on my board, so...

Also, no volume drops or boosts.

The ONE THING to keep in mind: you either have to use the EHX power supply (wall wart) OR you have to have a power supply capable of higher than 200mA, like the PP2+. If you try to use a One-Spot, or DC Brick, or other daisy-chain type powering device, it's noisy.

Agreed as to tone and power. I use a PP2+ for power and there's no noise at all. The pedal does reverb very well for my needs.

I had a holy grail and didn't like it at all. The quality of the reverb was fine but it added a bunch of noise even with my PP2 That's the problem with EH imo, bad quality control. Maybe a different unit wouldn't have made the same noise.

I like the HG+, I think it really takes off where the regular HG left off and added a little more features with added control. I don't remember any volume drops, tone suck, or added noise. I still like my regular HG as it sounds a little more pure. Over all the EH verbs are one of my favorites.

I actually can't stand the Boss or Digitech verb pedals.
I've also tried the Nova Reverb and was greatly disappointed.
