TTE Tape cartridge

how often does it need to be replaced?
i bought one new about 2 months ago.
when i played it today the repeats were dirty (no matter how it was set).

Check the heads and also keep in mind the age of the ape also depends on how many hours of use is on said tape...a tape thats a year old and got used one hour a week during that year will likely sound a lot better than a tape thats a month old but got used 8 hours a day for that month. My rule of thumb is this, if the tape is starting old then replace it...

but is this what you suppose to get when the tape is old? dirty repeats?

Old tapes will have dirty repeats and dirty heads will do it too...could be one or the other or a combo of both...

i didn't touch the heads... and the TTE is working fulltime for me so i guess its the tape.
anyway - when i searched for info about this in the fulltone site, i found out that my TTE demo is in the updates how cool!

A dry q-tip swiped over the heads real well should do it in between major cleanings.
