TIM at 18 Volts: "Officially" ok?

Just wanted to get the final word on running a TIM at 18 Volts. Is this actually ok?

To anyone who has done it, what type of changes did you hear?

TG

I run mine at around 13v and notice a positive difference in headroom.... especially when stacking overdrives or boosts before.

It's an OD pedal put out by Paul Cochrane. He puts out the TIM, and the Timmy.

Can you go into a bit more detail? What exactly do you hear?

Thanks

Definitely safe, straight from Paul C. I do this occasionally, you get a *slight* increase in output, clarity, headroom, and 'punch'. Not night and day but cool....I generally feel like pedals running at 18V have a wider frequency response, don't know if that's true or just perception....

How do you guys run the higher power? Do I need to get a separate wall wart plug?

You can get 18 v from a VL PP2 or similar power supply with a Y cable (2 power channels to one pedal).

Hey, Steve...

Thanks for helping out the less informed.

I run my EMG's with 18volts, and get more headroom before the pickups preamp clips from hard picking attack. It gets rid of the 'grating'.

My friend Oz Fox gave that suggestion....works great.

Awesome thread guys! I actually lost track of this thread and didn't see most of the posts

Anyway, I think I will pickup an 18 v Dunlop adaptor and try it out. I LOVE this pedal; it is exactly what I have been searching and searching for.
