A question for Pedaltrain users

I'm thinking about getting a PT-Pro/SC, and I'm wondering, how sturdy is the soft case that comes with it?

EDIT: After more research and deliberation, I've ended up with a PT-II/HC. Apparently Gigging musician + soft case = eventual headache.

If you're doing a lot of travelling/gigging I would go with the hard case. The soft case is pretty durable, but I could see how a lot of dragging it around could wear it down. I really don't see how they could make it any more durable, but at the same time it's a soft case and you can only do so much with a soft case that isn't reinforced at all.

i used to have one but i felt the padding could be improved and given the size of the pro, its gonna weigh a fair bit and the strap may not last in the long run.

i recommend going for the hardcase if transport is not a problem for you.

Thanks for the responses, guys. Is it difficult to track down just the hard case for a PT pro if decide to take that route later?
By then, I'll have roadies to lug it around for me anyways

I don't know of any retailers that sell just the hard case, but I think I recall a post a couple of weeks ago regarding someone asking where to get just the HC...I think Mike @ Analogman chimed in saying he's a dealer and that he might be able to do just the hard case. You'd have to double check that though!

Get the hard case. Yeah, it's more money (and weight!), but it'll pay for itself the first time the case absorbs the shock that would kill some pedal underneath.

The other day, my daughter noted out loud how many of the stickers I've put on my PT2 hard case are torn and shredded. Each one of those tears is damage that the case took instead of the pedals.

Soft case for my PT-2 is really soft.
Top and bottom are reinforest, but the sidewalls are not.
I expected more, but anyway it is enough for my needs

The hard case is SO worth it. If you have to save up a little, do it. Its a no brainer.

Yes... get the hard case... I got two PTPRO/HCs a couple years ago. I stand mine on its end in my rehearsal space and use it as a ledge for my picks and other "mood enhancers" while I am playing. It's also at a great height for changing your batteries out of your pedals when needed. Plus the case has rollers, which makes it easier to transport.

Bottom line... go with the hard case!
Call Mike if you haven't already.

It's about as durable as fabric allows. I always use the handle because my board w/pedals inside the case has to weigh 40-50 lbs. I wouldn't trust the shoulder strap to handle that much weight for long periods of time.

Dude, get two Pedal Train 2's then each will be less than the 50 lb flying weight and you won't have to pay extra $$. The soft cases are fine for short trips where you handle your gear. But if you are getting the Pro board you gotta go with the hardshell with WHEELS!

As everyone has already stated, go with the hardcase. It's one of the best products out there. I've got the PT2 and PT-Pro, both with hardcases. The Pro is very heavy with the hardcase, but with the wheels it's a piece of cake. Love it.

Those softcases are well made for what they are, but ultimately they will fall apart like any softcase would carrying that much weight. The hardcase won't let you down. I would just e-mail John at Pedaltrain about getting a hardcase. He can just send you a PayPal invoice and ship you one from the warehouse no problem I'm sure. Great company to deal with.

Can you fit a boss-sized pedal above a crybaby-sized wah on a Pedaltrain II?
