Cool. I just read in the report in Tone Quest.....

....." The VAC is simply a remarkably toneful, exceptionally versatile and cleverly designed hand-wired amp that ranks among the most unique and toneful designs we have ever encountered"....

Based on my amp, I would agree ! :AOK

Hi,
The VAC 25 is the old 22 with the updates.
Any VAC amp made before 3/07 would need to be sent to me for the updates. After 3 /07, the only change was a small reverb upgrade that you can do yourself, its just 1 cap and 1 pot value change. On non reverb amps it is just changing the value of 1 resister. Besides keeping the voltage spikes off the reverb drive transformer, the last tweak makes the midrange tones much sweeter, very similar to the midrangey tones of the VAC gold you have.
All I need for any of the mods is the amp chasis, amps with a mid control on the front runs $50 plus return shipping, no mid control on the front is $100 plus return shipping.

Hi,
Just a reminder to those who have older VACs.
Any amp made before 3/07 needs to be sent in for the last upgrade to bring the amp up to 08 spec. Any amp made between 03/07 and 01/08 just needs a small reverb tweak that does not have to be sent to me to be done. Here what you do. Just add a .002 3kv cap (3kv rating is very important) on pin 1 to pin 3 on the reverb tube and change the value of the reverb pot from 250k to 500 k audio taper.

The prices are

Amps with no mid control (1997 through 2001 or so)on the front $100.
Amps with mid control(2001 on) on the front $50
Plus return shipping of course

That includes a free biasing as well.
Rob

anytime rob, that would be awesome. i am about 2 hours south of indy. too bad the midwest jam got cancelled.

the combo of the black head and the white head a/b'd is truly amazing. nice work.

you deserve all of the praise and popularity of your amp lines.
