T-Rex Moller vs. Fulltone Fulldrive: opinions

Can someone please share any opinions on these pedals? Thinking about buying one of them, thanks.

I just sold off my FDII FM for the Moller. IMHO the Moller is the clear winner. With an independent boost (the FD boost only works when the OD is on), the Mix knob (for wet/dry mix) and the Mid boost/minus button, it is just that much more of a versatile pedal. It can cover a lot of ground and truly is 2 pedals in one! (the boost is great)

To my ears it sounds better through my AC30 than the FD did -- not nearly as mushy.

Get the Moller-- I think it is going to gain in popularity and will start holding it's value. I got mine for $150 from a gearpager (they are $279 new) and I have a feeling they will be going up as soon as pagers start talking about it.

+1 for the Moller

I would like to find an affordable Moller. They've never come up when I've had the cash though.

There was a guy here, Drgit is his name, who bought one for $135 and is now trying to sell it for the same (if I remember correctly). It does have a bad boost switch, but that is a $10-$15 fix I am pretty sure. Contact him, he might still have it.

There was somebody trying to eBay one with a bad boost switch, but they wanted $189!

I've had both, but sold my Moller, because I wanted more character... yes, it was very transparent, but that wasn't what I was looking for.
I briefly had a Little Green Wonder, which I hated for the lack of tonal abilities. It was a one trick pedal... but admitedly did that trick very well.
I sold the LGW and got a fulldrive II mosfet, which is definetely the way to go for me. It's got power and much more posibilities. Now I don't need a second OD on my board.

The boost-part is okay on the fulldrive, but the Moller had a clean boost which sounded amazing. On all other matters, I prefer the fulldrive

to look up a member -- go to search, advanced search and search drgit on the right search box, click his name when it comes up and hit search. Find one of his threads and PM him.

I had both. A moller (TC vintage tube primer) and a FD-2 (most recent version).

Moller was absolutely a huge step up from the fulldrive. MUCH MUCH more transparent and responded beautifully to pick attack. The indy clean boost and mixable clean signal is awesome. I usually run the gain and mix at about 2 oclock and it sounds great on its own, and awesome when stacked. Cool hendrixy sounds there. Put a tube screamer out front and you've got a killer lead. I put the Moller at the breakup point and then just treat it like a cranked amp at low volumes. Its great.

The FD-2 sounded way too harsh around the edges. The core sound was really smooth, but there was always an element of harshness complimenting it that I couldn't dial out. Sometimes that could be desireable (hard rock), but didn't work for my. My main drives now are a TS808, Moller, and a Si Fuzzface. I'm very happy.

BTW, the clip in my sig is a FD-2 Mosfet on vintage mode stacking into a Moller. Cool sound for hard rock.

Another happy Moller owner - that mix control is great, although getting usedd to balancing that, the Level and Gain controls can take a while - it all seems pretty interactive. But a good pedal, and the boost is excellent. (With capacity to fell buildings at full tilt)

As soon as I hit the boost for the first time I blew my house apart. Stupid house.

Another Moller fan here. Much more transparent that the FDII. It is a little bright but that works pretty well with my LP. There is a darker voicing switch if you play single coils. I love the slight breakup that it can give you and also how it stacks with other distortions. The boost is awesome too. It won't be leaving my pedalboard for a long while.
