Simple AXE FX question: What is your signal path?

What is your signal path from your guitar to the speaker? Which power amp, speaker cab, etc?

Please don't stray from this question. Keep the pro and con arguments on other threads.

I am curious about the unit and how people are using it. It sounds like there quite a few variations out there.

I'm sure this info is spread throughout countless threads, but I thought it would be useful to consolidate it here.

Thanks!

Depends on the stage demands.

Direct:

Guitar -> Axe-FX -> stage input (XLR left to snake). IEM's for monitors from monitor mixer.

Direct/Stage Monitor:

Guitar -> Axe-FX -> XLR (left out) to QSC HPR122i. Feed stage input (XLR out on QSC to snake). Usually have the QSC on it's side in front of me.

Stage volume only:

Guitar -> Axe-FX -> XLR (left out) to QSC HPR122i. QSC standing up behind me.... crank it up. (No issues keeping up with 100w tube heads feeding 412's).

***Notes: I run mono presets, I run one QSC. Even running direct only, I run mono. Just simpler. I run Bayou Cables (Canare) guitar cable from guitar to Axe-FX or use wireless (rarely). I use a Rocktron All Access midi controller with a Square One controller pedal hooked up.***

Axe-FX > clean tube power amp > guitar cab (all cab/speaker emulations are off, but I do keep the power amp sims on so I can adjust sag, level and master).

I just prefer the feel and air that a real amp setup pushes. The Axe setup this way sounds awesome. I also use it as an effects box for my other amps, and again it is simply awesome.

Currently I use a 50 watt Atomic amp (www.atomicamps.com) with the internal speaker defeated... then I go from the external 8 Ohm speaker out to my Two Rock 2x12 cab.

The Atomic power section is all tube and it has the cleanest output you've ever heard. It really makes the Axe sound like the real thing!
