Are the Princeton Reverb RI's PTP?

They are said to sound pretty good though; there's a review in the most recent Tone Quest. Hopefully my local Fender dealer will get one in to check out.

The 57 Tweed Re-issue is PTP. But then it's also a lot more money.

I've read some good reviews on the amp. Fender does a good job with PCB designs, keeping the tubes off the main board, etc. Good speaker and tubes and it should sound great.

The Ampeg J-20 is PTP, and $50 cheaper. With a better cab, and a 12" alnico speaker. And 5 more watts. And cuter.

Are they made in China? How can they produce an amp like that at that price point?

PTP or PCB, It sounds fantastic. In fact, it sounds as good as my PTP Victoria Victorilux 6L6, 115. You're not going to find a better sounding Blackface tone for $799. I'm glad it's not PTP. It would have cost a bunch more and I doubt it would have sounded any better.

Yeah but...is it the kind of PCB amp that can be easily serviced. If it is, we're in business.

Pretty good though???

You say this as if it sounds good in spite of being PCB?

Are people really still under the impression that it makes a difference?

I thought most folks were over that myth?

I can't answer that. What I do know is my HRD and Deville 410 were never any trouble as far as reliability. Has fender had problems in the past with their PCB amps? It seems I would have heard about it one way or another.
