Congrats dude! That amp's a beauty!

Just curious, what made you go for the MI-6 over his standard 18?

I already have a couple of EL84 amps. The 6V6s give the MI-6 a totally different tone. It's rounder and warmer. More growl, less chime. Not necessarily better, just different.

I totally agree that Bob and Sue are great people to deal with! They also put together a great looking and sounding amp!

My SV-18 arrived yesterday - loaded with all NOS tubes (Thanks Blue Strat!) and it rocks! I'm playing it through a Port City 2x12 (BTW, Daniel is also great to deal with) and it sounds great!

Kudos to all that help me put my rig together!

This is me:

Now I just gotta get out of the office...

I just happen to have a large stash of Brimar 6V6s (12AX7s too) and I've already put in a pair. :AOK

Wow, what a beauty. Any chance you'll get time to record some clips in the next 4 days?

Congrats!

Congrats on the new Reinhardt!!! I agonized over whether to get the MI-6 or the 18 (with EL84s). I ultimately went with the 18 and now I can't wait until it is ready! I could easily imagine getting a MI-6 in the future as well.

Bob and Sue Reinhardt are great people and I too have found them wonderful to deal with. Great customer service and awesome amps!

I bet the amp sounds great with those Brimar 6v6s!!

I would love to hear more impressions on the MI-6 when you get a chance...not all that many reviews of the MI-6 out there yet...

Eric

I've got the Brimar 6v6's in mine too! They're a great match with the amp!

I'm to the point where I think that I can declare that I prefer the MI-6 to the 18. After much tube swapping, speaker swapping, converting my 2/12 cab from closed to open, then back again and then resting on open(semi), and also tweaking controls, I can say that I like the thick growl, the clearer tone and the clean tone of the MI. I plugged into my 18 combo the other day and it sounded small compared to the MI, which shocked the shit right out of me! I also in general, find the MI more versitile.......

I would really like to try one of Bob's EL34 amps or the Sentinel KT66. I have never found satisfaction in an El34 amp, but we will see.
