Does Anyone make a FET pedal (more inside)

I love the fet boost on the latest two rocks... more of an added gainstage but a very transparent one like a clean boost but on steroids. i was wondering if anyone is making a pedal currently that sounds like this type of boost...

Take your pick. FET boosters are pretty common. You just need to find one that's voiced right for you.

The Retro-Sonic Boost is quite nice. The Time Machine is very versatile and handy if you don't know what'll sound good with your rig. Keeley's Katana is another popular FET boost.

Personally the route I'd recommend, if you're handy with a soldering iron, is to check out Jack Orman's just-released multi-purpose boost/buffer board -- if you're DIY-friendly and want to customize a boost to suit your needs I can't recommend it enough. And there's his tried-and-true MOSFET booster circuit.

no soldering skills here... but i have looked at the katana and it really looked like a sweet pedal... i like pedals that dont color your sound too much which is why i love the way a classic reverb sound when u step on the FET boost... just a great transparent and light boost that adds a nice tough of extra sag

thanks for your insight

I recently picked up an Earthtone Boost from NOC3... JFET build structure. No color from my experience.

Don't forget RGW Bad Bob! A killer clean fet-based boost.

Many thanks for the recommendation!

The Multi-Purpose board can be used to build jfet or mosfet boosters (and buffers). When you purchase a board, I email a link to you with over a dozen circuits that can be made on that pcb. Lots of choices, maybe too many

regards, Jack

I will bet that what you like about the 2R boost FET boost is less about FET and more of where it occurs in the amp. It must be a post master boost (versus a dual master) so if you find an FET pedal and place it before the amp, it may not be the same, your gonna hit v1 harder in yoru pre-amp and it wont be as transparent.

Use it in your fx loop to come closer to the transparency of the 2R boost. The steroidial feel is because your jacking the driver stage harder.
