Question How hard is it to rehouse an Arion chorus?

Anyone ever try doing this? The case and switch are obviously shite, but the thing sounds fantastic.

Any tips or advice would be mucho appreciated.

You might contact Dereck at www.tonefreak.com.

He has done it before but is pretty busy with his pedal line.

He did mine, but I don't think he's doing them anymore...

Why rehouse it? It's much sturdier than it looks. The ABS it's made of is really tough. Every single old Arion pedal I've seen is still looking a lot better than most of the old Boss or Ibanez pedals I've seen. Never had a switch break down either, which I can't say of my Ibanez 10-series pedals.

Cheers,
Johan

Well, mine had a few issues with the on/off and coloring the tone when bypassed.

Anyone know of any books that detail the process?

Tonefreak will not do any rehouses...From what I understand its not hard to just swap housings, but kinds tough to upgrade a few things...

You know you could just buy a true-bypass looper and stick the Arion pedal in the loop?

Rehousing would be relatively easy if you didn't care about true-bypass; it would just be a matter of some new jacks and a more rugged momentary switch. True-bypass is where it gets tricky because you have to wire the pedal as "always on". I'd recommend the forum at diystompboxes.com - you can find a lot of information in the archives and the people on the forum are all very helpful and knowledgeable.
