Great overview Jack, your playing is stellar as always.

I have a Tim and was wondering why you didn't address the tonal changes from using the "Pull" mode on the Boost circuit Gain control? It affects both modes (not just the boosted mode). More gain, but it drops volume just a bit.

Thank you Jack for an excelent demo. I ordered a Tim pedal from Paul about 2 weeks ago. I'm hoping for an end of year delivery. From my phone conversations with Paul I was sure I was going to like it but now I know for sure :AOK.

Paul is so humble too. He was genuinely worried that I wouldn't like it after seeing/hearing the other videos I had on my site and was pleasantly surprised that I was totally knocked out with it. To me the coolest thing about it is how it covers such a wide territory of tones from klonish up to fuzoid/metal stuff.

Jack,

I love your demo's, I consider you a technically accomplished player. Your picking technique is so precise it's scary some times. In your latest TIM demo's, you sound a bit more relaxed like your not having to work as hard to get the tone and feel you want to hear from your guitar and amp. This pedal really fits your Hendrix side. I'm looking forward to future TIM demo's.

Well done, Jack... glad I reminded you of that mode. Did you find the volume difference between the two (not pulled vs pulled) to be significant? It seems so on my Tim.

not to derail but you Zen 2 demo is GREAT as well! I just loaded a set of the 36thPAF in my les paul and the Z2 is my od. Havent been able to run thru my board yet so I have been worried if the Dimarzios will like the zen... I guess I dont need to worry!

that was the zen 2 in the clip when I clicked on the "d-style" OD with the tim acting as a boost.

I may be mistaken but I think it's the Tim without the loop. Someone correct me if i'm wrong...

The Timmy is a single stage overdrive, there is no boost or effects loop on this pedal, the housing is also a lot smaller.

The boost function on the TIM is compression changer, I think when it's in there is more compression, this is why it would seem to lose volume but pick up gain.

Nice demo Jack, great pedal for sure. I use mine as my tone sweetener, it's on almost all the time.

That sounds about right, Harry. It does compress alot with that pull boost on, but it's a nice compression. My favorite tones definitely come with the pedal in it's normal mode. Sweet clear overdrive with no unwelcome color... very organic, rich and amp-like.

I am currently running a Zendrive in the effects loop (Zen - off / Tim - on = low gain crunch; Zen - on / Tim - on = excellent overdrive; add the boost circuit to either mode and it's a perfect lead boost). This set up gives me clean plus 3 modes of overdrive with one click. If I am playing a clean passage but know that I have an overdriven riff coming up, I just keep the Zen on (but it's not in the signal path since it's in the TIM's loop), all I do is step on the TIM and now both the TIM and the Zen is in the path. A single click and I'm back to clean.

You can also have the boost circuit engaged with the TIM off and a single click puts you into excellent 'clean-ish' lead tone land. Very easy to set up different levels of drive on the fly for live gigs.
