EBS Tremolo / Mad Professor MYT / BYOC Trem
Hi,
I just wanted to know... Is this also suitable for guitar? Does someone use this unit? Compared it to other units? Vinni Last edited by vinni; 08-29-2008 at 05:46 AM. |

I started a thread about this pedal last week and got zero replies :-(
The magazine review (bass) on the EBS website hints that "it's a great pedal, but your guitarist will try and steal it", which makes me think it's suitable for guitarists. I'd love to get some reviews of it. On the face of things, it's tiny, true bypass, and true stereo. |

I have one on my desk rightnow.
The manual states that it's analog all the way. Construction is really solid! Pots, jacks, switches all top quality. It is stereo in and stereo out. Tonight I have rehearsals.....so we'll see. I have a Mad Professor Trem coming in as well. Vinni |

First impression :
No clicks or pops when you turn it on. No hiss or hum. It doesn't screw up your original sound. But...I only used it for say....5 minutes or so. It doesn't sound warm or analog. Will test it again on fryday. Vinni |

Excellent report - please post again when you've compared it to the MP MLT. These are the two I have my sights on too.....

Hmm....
"Still haven't found what I'm looking for".... The MYT is very mellow....smooth....but the sound reminds me more of a good vibrato. The depth-knob doesn't go deep enough. It is very silent...no residual noise. No plops.... That's good. In a live-situation the EBS cuts more through. Very though call.... Both are going back to my dealer. I still think my BYOC trem sounds better. Vinni |

Damn it!
I have a BYOC trem that I built myself. It sounds great, but I don't trust my soldering enough to put it on my board full-time :-/ I was hoping you were gonna say the MP or the EBS kicked its ass.... |

I have one, and I love it. It has two different modes of operation, and three waveform setting for each. And of course, it has depth and speed controls. It also has an internal trim pot to set the level to match unity gain when the effect is engaged. I like to goose the output it a little for more presence so the effect jumps out and gets the attention it deserves.
The low pass setting is really cool. With this setting, the TremoLo sounds unlike any trem I've heard because it was designed to let the low end of a bass pass through and only affect the mid and high freqs. This adds a whole new dimention to the trem sound. It has square wave, sine, and sawtooth modes. It's pretty much the most versatile trem I've used... though I must admit my knowledge and exp with trem units is limited. But yeah, I think the EBS TremoLo rocks. |

Sure it's good...no question about that.... But that special warm analog, almost tubelike 3D-sound?....no....sorry (IMHO) But hey!....If you're happy with it!:AOK Vinni |

My test drive for the EBS TremoLo was an outdoor show playing Born On The Bayou with my G&L Legacy into a 50 watt Reverberocket cranked to about 8. Freakin' cool!
