Mine shipped late last week, might have it today or at least by the end of the week!

Got mine Saturday, but it's going back, probably tomorrow.
I could barely hear anything out of it, even with the volume maxed. I'll give IG the benefit of the doubt since it's probably the first run of this pedal and I know there was a huge response on this. I'll review the replacement when I get it.
Still, six weeks is a long time to wait and be shipped a non-working product.

Bummer, I had that happen with a pedal once (not one of Brians, different manufacturer.) It sucks but it happens. Maybe it got banged up in shipping.

To give Brian the benefit of the doubt, this exact same problem occured with the Ecstacy Drive he sent me for the Tour Box. I think it is an issue with a bad batch of some component, etc. Still, a pedal should be "burnt-in" or at least tested before being shipped out.

Well, it's not like it was an ebay deal gone bad or something; it just took a while to get the unit.
Could be a cold solder joint somewhere or something touching ground that shouldn't. No biggie - from what I could tell, it sounded good. (but that was with the volume maxed on the CAC and the volume on 6 on my Super reverb - glad it didn't start working suddenly )

How exactly is that "the benefit of the doubt"? It seems like a pattern.

That it is a component or some other explainable issue, nothing more. Thanks for asking.

OK..I got my Cranked AC.

I definitely does the cranked Brian May very well. The thing is though I only use that sound occasionally so I was hoping with the gain backed off it might be able to do the Tom Petty sort of thing for those occasions when I can't play through my Vox. I haven't found it to excel for that sort of thing so methinks I'll probably sell this one.

Yes, we had a bad batch of switches recently. Everything DID test fine. The problem isn't that they weren't checked, the problem is that the switch failed after a hundred clicks (for example) instead of 15000. I even had it happen to a couple of my prototypes - plugged it in one day and it was fine. The small amount of signal is bleed through which is fairly normal on a gain device when the switch is not grounded on the output (which it is, but it didn't connect).

It's a pain, I know, but anyone who has contacted me or contacts me about it will get their pedal worked on for free of course - the repair comes first before any builds.

Buck, I still haven't received your pedal - did you send it yet?

Thanks -
Brian

Do you mean 'backed off' as in the gain knob itself or backing off w/your guitar volume? On the video it sounds like it backs off pretty well...

Primarily on the gain knob but also for me how that interacts with my guitar's volume.

I didn't mean to imply the pedal doesn't clean up- it does that very well. But in my case I'd like to run the gain at less than 12 o'clock as there's a fair bit more gain & saturation on tap than I need and then back off to a mild crunch with the guitar volume. When I have the gain set at 10-11 o'clock I notice that the bottom end is a bit attenuated.

I think if you were heading for May tones with the gain up and backing off the volume to a "rock" crunch rather than a Petty-ish jangle/chime tone this wouldn't be an issue.

I'm certainly not bagging the Cranked AC it does what it's designed for very well. I ordered pretty early on without really knowing what the pedal was aiming for. I wasn't really expecting the AC30 plus treble booster sound.

I don't think anybody could say you were bagging the pedal. You're just relating your experience in an even-handed, reasoned fashion that is completely inappropriate for the internet.

Actually, the May-ish crunch that I can back down on the guitar is exactly what I'm going for. Thanks for the info! :BEER

It's going out today - I heard back from your tech support on Monday, but I've had to work through lunch all week and haven't had a chance to send it.

Thanks man,
Buck
