I have an LDO coming...

How do you set it?
What type amp goes best with it?
How do you set the amp?
What guitars go best with it?

(I'm looking for smooth, medium gain tones)

Thanks, I'm psyched!

You'll find it has a lot of gain on tap, you'll probably only need to run it at 12:00 gain.

It also depends if it was voiced for your amp. I bought one from blues angel and it was quite bright. In the end it wasn't worth the $$ for me.

What do you use now for your go to pedal OD?

Originally I sold my first HBE Power Screamer to fund the LDO. Received the LDO, played it for a couple weeks, and realized I like the Power Screamer better. So I bought another one! For me the PS takes all the good things of a TS and makes them better. More gain, more aggressive, more amp like. And I have played a host of TS's. Last time I counted I was around 10 or so.

I"m not into aggressive...I like smooth gain better.
I've heard that the LDO does this pretty well, with definition of both single note and chord voicings that remain clear.

I bought a LDO and a MO'd at the same time last year. They both sounded real good and I'm sure you'll enjoy it immensly!!!

I always used the up position, and sometimes the middle. With the tone at 9:00-10:00 o'clock. The gain about 11 and the volume (wow lots of volume) between 9-10.

I played Les Pauls and strats through a DRRI and Line 6 flextone 3.

If money is not an issue than you will enjoy it.

For me, I set the LDO in the "up" position with the drive almost all the way up, and run it through a deluxe reverb with a les paul. Sounds great to me. It sounds like an aggressive overdrive with the right amount of "crunch" without sounding to metal.

Well,
Got the LDO yesterday.
Set her up this morning with my PRS Custom 22 and my Heritage Patriot 212 combo.

This thing is 'roided Marshall out of the gate...with smooth clarity and tone to no end.
Lotsa dB's in this baby too.
At first blush, I'd have to say that the LDO is THE BEST OD pedal I own...with the Heritage (think BF Pro Reverb)...yowza.

I love it.

Now I have to start selling a few pedals.

Yes, it is a great od. It took me my second one to bond with it. I thought it was a little boxy sounding the first time around, but the second one I have is my favorite od by far. The mid range frequencies it pumps out sit perfectly in the mix, especially at gig volume. With a strat, I couldn't be happier with my tone.
I use the up position most of the time with the gain at 11-12:00, tone 2-3:00. I use it mostly with my Fargen Blackbird and it is exactly the sound I'm looking for.
