Bogner Alchemist at Best Buy

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1215216375330

Doesn't seem like too bad an idea for Best Buy to start selling instruments since they can leverage their buying power, which I'm sure is much much stronger than GC. Looks like the high price point on guitars is $999 and $2499 on amps so they are just testing the market.

Been plenty of talk about this on the board, but opinions seem to vary.

In my former life of 36 years in the hi fi industry, when "speciality" vendors went to Best Buy and Circuit City .......those vendors permanently ruined/cheapened their reputations.

i had to go check it out sunday when the instrument department at my local best buy had opened. if you thought gc was brutal on the ears on weekend afternoons, imagine a 6 year old with a parker fly in front of the boss pedal rack at best buy while 4 or 5 others are running around. they have the big iron like the jvm's in an enclosed room about 8' x 12'. i wonder what that sounds like when you turn it up to about 3.

Line6, Crate, Marshall, Roland, Peavey, Vox, Yamaha, Behringer, Daisy Rock, Alvarez, and Martin. Sounds like everyone is on board except Fender and Gibson... I heard Gibson was going to start opening their own "super" stores like Harley Davidson did.

They would. After going to to GC a few days ago and seeing who's walking in and buying new Gibson's I'd imagine they could. Sorry gents but a guitar doesn't make those penny loafers any more rock than they were before.

All I know, that looks like a nice amp.........no matter where i might buy it.

Check it out at the bogner site.

That in a 1x12 format may be the perfect gigging amp for me..............
