i love it. I've only spent a few minutes with the OCD and at the time didn't care for it. I'd like to hear it again. I think the Trower does capture Robben's tone. I'm pretty psyched about it. I'm a little tired of the state of overdrive pedals in general and this is a breath of fresh air.

I don't think it sounds anything like Trower untill you kick on the Megavibe. (Man the Megavibe sound great!!) And even then it doesn't seem to have the growl Robin has. It seems like a pretty good boost pedal though. And it would probably do better with an amp that was kicking. Can you do another clip with the amp at the verge of breakup.

I'm not sure the pedal was designed to sound like '70s Robin. It was designed to sound like the sound Robin has in his head and it sounds pretty close to what he sounds like when he's using one.

Can't get to it from work. I'll give a listen later on but if he's playing through 4x12 cabs, ain't no way a clip in my basement will sound like it.

Here's another clip by Fiadino which displays the fulltone tone pretty nicely!

Yeah, but I just heard that the RTO is a version of the OCD, that has less gain to it, and a flat EQ. I heard they based it on the version of OCD that he has, which is version 1 I believe. I think it sounds great as far as being a boost/low gain overdrive, I was just saying it doesn't get you to automatically sound like RT. Believe me I want to grab one.

Just an FYI - It's not a boost at all. It's definitely an overdrive/distortion device. It's particularly apparent that it's not a boost when you run it next to something like a Tim or the wampler ecstasy. Even at low gain settings it's adding thick od/distortion - which in this case is very nice.

The pedals Trower used in the vid were a Distortion Pro and a Fat Boost.

The fundamental character of that tone has more to do with the power of the amp than the pedals. It usually takes a 100w Marshall to get that much freight-train-like low end with that agressive clanging quality that seems to be bottemless yet still tight as can be. Even if you had the exact same pedals in the front end, you couldn't get that kind of force with something like an 18 watter. My 100w plexi Super Lead will do that well. Then you shape the rest of the tone with whatever pedals he's got going. That's just a big ass sound from a big ass amp.
