1959 LP Junior, Scumback H75 100 watt, Super Goldtone GA30RVH

I'm just testing out my recording rig...a Mac Pro Tower, dual 2ghz Intel chips, 2gb ram, 1.5 terabyte Seagate storage (SATA interface), Mackie Spike, GarageBand 4 and two SM57's inside a Grendel Dead Room ISO cab.

I'm checking out a 59 Junior to purchase, so I whipped out a little off the cuff riffage over an organ blues backing track Charlie Daughtry linked me.

For one P90 you can get a bunch of tones out this guitar, by rolling the volume and tone controls along with a mild boost from the GA30RVH.

Feel free to rip my playing a new bunghole, I'm used to it. Too much time on the keyboard instead of the fretboard!

Hah! That's the result of noodling with a cat and 9 month old puppy nudging you while you're playing. At one point, the dog shoved her head up between the neck and my arm to get my attention...totally made me lose track of where I was in the progression.

But thanks for the kind words...

Hey, you can actually play.

btw I put the H75 in a DRRI I just picked up. Transformed the amp. It's the limited run tan edition with the "better" Jensen P12Q. Still sounded harsh and brittle to my ears, the Scummie on the other hand is just stellar in this amp.

Hope things are going well, I miss you over at that other place.

If I were you, I'd be buying the '59. Great playing and tone.

Thanks very much, gkoelling, but I'm way out of practice! This 59 Jr. kicks some serious booty, though, that's for sure. I am getting this from the widow of one of my good friends who lost his battle with cancer 2 1/2 months ago. It's been refinished, headstock repair, Pigtail wraparound with adjustable saddles, and even, cough, hack, barf...DiMarzio 250K pots and some unknown aftermarket .020 ceramic disc cap...and in spite of all that, it still kicks ass.

It has to the wood and that original P90...
