My new Taylor 12 string - whoopee!

So I just picked up a new old stock Taylor 30th Anniversary 355ce 12 string...bought it from Brian Harmon in Indiana (his shop posted it in the dealers section on TGP), a great deal BTW, and quick service too. I've played more recent versions of this axe before; absolutely love it for a good, basic pro-level 12 string, without all the fancy bindings and such. Spruce top, mahogany back and sides, ebony fretboard with the 30th anniversary inlays. Sounds a bit...more...compressed...than I remember these guitars sounding, but still more open sounding than a comparably-priced Breedlove (which I also like). I have not yet used the Expression System, but would be interested in hearing from those of you who have plugged in your Taylor 12s and what amps you're using, and what to expect if I go direct (say, at an open mic, etc.). Also, please post yer string guages!

Cheers,

Fred

Congrats! Some of the best 12-strings made ever.

I have a 855 and it's a cannon.

I'm not a big fan of the ES system.
