Best guitar solo ever recorded live, hands down

And certainly one of the best solos of all time, for that matter: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JWnapx502uQ

Starts at 4:54

Wanna learn? There's a dude who nailed it and tabbed out the entire solo: http://home.broadpark.no/~kayrh/comfnumb.htm

Best live solo for me is "UFO - Strangers in the Night - Rock Bottom" by Michael Schenker.

I can only take Floyd in small doses. I like Gilmour's solos but that's it.

+1 for Gilmour

But I'm amazed by anything this guy does and I truly admire him, he makes Yngwie look like a schoolboy.

IMO this is the best recorded live guitar solo:

Poor Hendrix must've been standing off stage going, "Damn!"

Gilmour is certainly one of my favorite guitarists but my favorite live solo ever is a toss up between two Phish songs: Stash from their A Live One album or Run Like An Antelope from their 4/3/98 show at the Nassau Coliseum.

Here's a YouTube of the Antelope. It's incendiary.

One of the all-time great performances ever. Did ya'll notice the old "coiled" guitar cables....I actually remember having those.

Alvin Lee was and is an amazing player for sure....I still listen to "I'm Goin' Home"

I'm am partial to Creams "Crossroads" and my all time favorite live guitar solo as well as Dickeys solo with the ABB on "One Way Out"

That's amazing, just wow! But I love Yngwie's playing style too. Lots of room for great guitar players you know.

What a ridiculous statement.....

Thats like saying Michael Jordan makes Emmitt Smith look like a hack....

They are entirely different.....

And I am not a huge Yngwie fan...
