David 'Fuze' Fiuczynski custom interval shredder guitar
PP-5 Shredder built in the First Act Custom Shop for Fuze. Long scale with 66 frets...basically two extra frets per interval. He's able to get an extremely cool Moroccan and mid-eastern style vibe from it.

Nice lookin' axe. Is that 36 equal tempered notes per octave? Or are the intervals non-equal?

i gues when you can play on a fretless guitar then mastering this should not take him too long .... i will check him out again !

More info, please...
I can't recall the actual scale length but it is very close to a bass scale. Each main fret is basically divided into thirds.

He had never played anything like it (other than a fretless) and as soon as he picked it up he was playing stuff on it that sounded amazing. Most of us around the shop when we picked it up, we didn't know what to do with it!

And a slightly more serious question: is the fret placement based on purely mathematical proportions, or optimized to allow for specific microtonal intervals?

Looks like the former to me, which would probably make the music sound quite otherworldly....perhaps almost inhuman. Innaresting...I see some new kind of cyberfusion approaching...

I don't have a photo to show you so I'll describe the best I can. They would be in the normal positions they would be on a standard 22 fret guitar (1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 12 etc.). The dot is to the left of the main interval.

I suggested we do a dot for every main interval so as to make it a little less confusing, but the person in charge of the shop at the time didn't want that.

As far as the placement of the frets, take a regular bass scale board and divide each position into equal thirds and that would be the placement.
