Oasis's "Dig Out Your Soul": Great new album!

Oasis's new album far surpasses anything they've done in recent years...it's fantastic! Great, great songs, very interesting, consistent, bluesy and psychedelic. Good job to the lads!

These are my favorites:

"Bag it Up" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujNsHh_CwNA

"Waiting for the Rapture" (Door's riff ripoff, but the melody makes you forget that fast, Noel sounds great here.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=njNdI8tYFYs

"I'm Outta Time" (Very Lennon)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7KlYM5_WLr0

"The Nature of Reality" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I1OnCG0Ip3o

It's a good one, for sure. I still think Heathen Chemistry and Don't Believe the Truth are pretty sweet, but I have a feeling Dig Out Your Soul will get some good press. It's made me go back into my "across the pond" music collection as weel as add on to it

You're right man...those are good albums. I thought Don't Believe the Truth was fantastic. This new one seems to have something else going on with it though...I don't know if I can put my finger on it. It's definitely not old Oasis, they've matured.

Maybe my saying it "far surpasses" is too strong. Those were good albums in their own right, I think though this may be one of their strongest so far.

Some real highlights on there, but a couple of duds as well. I just like hearing the boys at it again. I like that Noel sings a few more and Liam is likely playing that very professional and accurate tamborine.

This album is waaaay different than their previous ones, but in a good way.
No half measures, very adventurous
Every old & new Oasis fan should be happy.

As far as what's different...it's psychedelic?
At least by Oasis's standard it is.
This is a big time vibe record. A very cool one at that.

It's as if Oasis has gone all spacey, trippy, psychedelic.
One thing's for sure there are no obvious hits and/or anthems here. This is a psychedelic ROCK record.
No "Wonderwall" or "Champagne Supernova" pop, no Marshall amps on 11 rave ups either though it does rock.

Haven't heard any stinkers yet.
Liam's big tune "I'm Outta Time" is very good.
He's come a long way since "Little James".

My fave is probably "To Be Where There's Life" even though there is no guitar on it.
Only bass, drums, and sitar.

A whole new direction, and it's about time.
I've been waiting for them to do this.

Bag it up
The turning
Waiting for the Rapture
Shock of the Lighting
I'm outta time
FALLING DOWN (one of my favorites)
Nature of Reality

All great songs. Really great album. Not sure these will stand the test of time like some of the early stuff though, but we'll see.

I don't care for the mixing/production on the first song, though the melody is good.

But that second song. Whoa! The Beatles (particularly John and Ringo) should receive royalties for that one yet it's still original. Very well done.

I've alway liked Oasis. Not enough to buy their CD's, but I do like them. But I really like the sound of this CD. I think I'm going to have to take the leap and actually buy this one.
