Question Recommend Tele pickups?

I want a different sound out of my Tele, a more round and fuller and punchier tone than what I got now. I like the Deluxe tele (two humbuckers) so what would you recommend I get to sort of going in that direction?

I just put a Lollar Vintage T set in my 52 thin skin and that neck pickup is definately round, full & punchy as well as very articulate.

I'm very pleased with my Lollar CC (which means routing the neck PUP) and Lollar Special T in the bridge. Jason Lollar's own description of the Special T is of having P90, almost humbucker characteristic when you roll off the tone. I'd agree. The Special T is not a full-on twanger, but plenty punchy.

You want punch?

Conventional tele: VooDoo
Non-conventional: Barden

The Suhr Broadcaster pickup sounds very good. It's more fat than twangy and a little hot, but still sounds like a Tele.

Lollars. Just put a set of the Vintage T's in my Tele, and they sound great. A bit fuller perhaps than other vintage-voiced Tele pups, but still unmistakably Tele.

+1 Lollar Special T-It handles gain very well, full tone, not very twangy

The Lollar's look very interesting. Especially the Special T, but now I see he is making a Charlie Christian p/u for the neck. I think that's what I need, so my question then would be what is a good match at the bridge? The Special T?

Yes, Special T is calibrated to work with the CC. I'm having a great time with that combination. It's been my main solid body for a couple years now.

Awesome! I think I'll run with that. So the CC is too big for standard tele?

Get the Lollar J-Street! It is a hotter wind and a bit fuller than the special. It is the bomb for a NoCaster, Esquire type thingy:BEER.
