Timefactor: Need help with Aux switch
I'm using a Digitech FS300 footswitch with theTimefactor. It has three switches.
Right now the middle switch on the FS300 controls the Repeat Hold function. I think that must be the default setting. The left switch turns the TF on and off. The right switch controlls tap tempo. But it's too easy to accidentally hit the middle switch so I'd like to set the middle switch to do nothing. I've read the manual but I can't figure out how to do that soooooooooo......how do I do that? Thanks.

hold the tap button on the unit itself for a couple seconds.

I also use an FS-300 to control the TF. I'm surprised that there's no way to assign one of the switches to do nothing. A couple of workarounds would be:
1. Use an unbalanced (mono), rather than balanced (stereo) cable to connect the FS to the TF. This will have the effect of disconnecting one of the switches. The problem is, I can't remember how the FS's switches are mapped (Tip/Ring/Sleeve), so I don't know which switch would be disconnected. Might or might not be the middle one. 2. Assign the middle switch to control one of the TF's knobs (KB0 - KB9) and set the maximum and minimum parameters to the same value. That way, if you hit the middle switch, it will change parameters for that knob, but in fact it will change nothing since the values are the same. Page 34 of the manual describes how to do this. |

I tried to set the middle switch to slightly change the modulation depth but it didn't work. I must have done something wrong. They need to supply buyers with a video on editing, etc. No matter, I still love this delay!

Up-date for anyone that's interested:
I got this reply from Eventide support: Hi Straticus, If you would like to de-assign a swith on your aux switch you will need to access the System Mode>Aux SW menu within the TimeFactor OS and configure the corresponding switchs to a null mode or "- - -" within the menu selection. As a system default, TIP is assigned to BYP, T+R is assigned to TAP and RNG is assigned to repeat. Whatever footswitch that you presently do not want assigned just configure the parameter assignment to "- - -". So with regard to your situation, you will want to change the assignment so that it resembles this "RPT > - - -" There is not save function so once you have made the desired assignment you merely exit System Mode. For more information on aux switch assignment, reference page 32 in the user manual. Best of luck!
