I seen them a month ago here in Victoria at the Royal Theatre which was built in 1913. The theatre is a great venue to see acts because of its acoustics and intimate atmosphere.

Now I've seen hundreds of acts here and upon seeing the Crowes it was the first time the whole place stood from the first song to the last!
My only beef was the way they had baffles set up on the stage, it was difficult to hear Luther clearly.
On the other hand where I was standing Rich's tone just killed!
Awesome show!!

I seen them a couple of years ago in the arena here and while it was a good show it lacked any intimacy.

Luther does a really great job and he does a whole ton more than just slide. You're going to have a great time. I was in the 6th row center and was able to see them all just fine.

I saw them Friday night in Atlantic City and it was a phenomenal show. Luther is starting to gel with Rich really well-much better than when I saw them in Philly in July. This was my 10th Crowes show since the reunion in 2005-I saw 4 Marc shows, 4 Paul Stacey shows (also incredibly talented like Marc) and now 2 with Luther. Highlights were the amazing new opening jam called Take Off For the Future-sort of a hyperspace version of an old Barrett era Floyd thing with incredible sound effects from the slide guitars of Rich,, Luther and Chris. Also really good were Locust Street, Wounded Bird, Movin Down the Line and the Boomer's Story encore. They do play a lot from Warpaint-in fact Friday there was very little (1 song) from Southern Harmony-Thorn, also with an awesome jam-but a great show and terrific sound-I was front row on Luther's side and from my experience having front row for 7 of 10 shows, this was the first time I really heard the vocals the entire show. The PA is flown and is actually behind the front row and overhead. You wil enjoy the show if you are 1. a Crowes fan and 2. a musician who loves classic rock, killer slide tones from Luther and an all together excellent live band that sticks to the great late 60's and early 70's formula. There are my favorite band and I will continue to see multiple shows every time they are within 100 miles of home.

Awesome reports!
Glad to hear things are 'gelling'...Thats one reason I'm glad to see them at this point of the tour.Luther is a great all around player,I love the NMAllstar's too.So I was glad to hear they picked him up....
I went to see the Crowes in '93 and the show got snowed out(In Hartford,CT) They came into the hotels bar I was staying at, and I had a few drinks with them(everybody but Chris anyway)So that was cool in its own way...

I cant wait to see them, they have been a fav band for along time now.
I love the opening of the Freak and Roll DVD/CD,so I'm really looking forward to the new opening if its half as good as that !!

Anticipation is killing me : )

I think ther new CD is awesome, but I hope they do some older stuff too,I've waited so long to see them,it'd be cool to hear some of the classics live,in person.

Yeah I thought Warpaint was a great, I was happy they returned to their southern roots. And I am a big fan of Luther Dickenson so I was happy he joined the band.

I have caught two shows with Luther and missed two this past week - due to a new job. Both shows were good, but they do play a lot of Warpaint. I too agree that Luther and Rich are getting more comfortable with each other. I hope to catch 2/3 of the upcoming 9:30 shows in DC!

I saw them in Edmonton in August. First time I had seen them though I have been a big fan since the 1st album. GREAT show, Luther sounded good though I wish it was the 2005-2006 lineup with Marc Ford instead. I am sure you guys know about this site but in case anyone doesn't:

http://www.liveblackcrowes.com/default.aspx

It is downloadable, purchaseable mp3's of all the shows on the tour. I bought the show I was at.

Not all of the shows. The one I went to in Puyallup, WA wasn't listed. Bummer.

It usually takes a few weeks for a show to appear on LBC. Also, don't forget about the fan forum, amorica2.

Saw them with Luther a few months ago - really, really good. The entire band was really on. New stuff and old stuff sounded great. Excellent tones and playing from both guitars. Have a great time! :AOK

Saw them back in March for the first One Night Only Warpaint show, then again in July in Philly, and I have tickets for Washington DC on 10/25 and both Town Hall acoustic shows (11/03 and 11/04).

The setlists since the band has returned from (what I believe was) Chris' illness have been very very good (Another Roadside Tragedy, Feathers, and Thunderstorm 6:54 were all played last night!), and this band never disappoints with their performance. I can't wait until I see them again.
