Here's my Guitar Room/Corner. Its a bit messy, but this is what you can get away with when you don't have a girlfriend.

Guitars, booze, and a picture of your cat. No wonder you don't have a girlfriend.

Just kiddin' man! I love the green Strat, and the Tele looks pretty hot too.

The green Strat is a Suhr Custom Classic and the Tele is a 2004 Standard with Kinman picks installed.

My son lives with my wife and I, and it's been understood for years that when he moves out, his room becomes my music room. I'm starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel. I'm thinking that within 2 years this is gonna happen. Almost time to start measuring for drapes!

Oh yeah, I have my area rug coming on Saturday (9'x12') and another chair and tables will be added soon.

Auralex got back to me with their recommendations on foam placement...what a great company.

Newest picture of the progress with one of the chairs....slowly but surely the room is filling up. I will not display all of my guitars though. My guitar tech is against it....most importantly. I notice that they will stay in tune when they are in the cases, but they definitely get tweaked when I leave them out. Sorry for the bad, grainy pic...my flash did not go off.

The collector that I bought my 1/2 stack was a huge Marshall collector. He only collected pre'68 Marshall. He owned a dual transformer 100w from '65 (I think). He owned 65 Plexi heads at one point...pinstriped cabs were common place. He only owned one post-67 head...my 50w, so I knew it was a good one. Here is a pic he sent me:

Nice! I see you have a McIntosh...one day I'll be able to build a nice two-channel system.

For acoustic panels you may consider building some 2X2 frames, wrapping them in GoM acoustically transparent material and filling them with Knauf Ductliner. The ductliner has very similar absorption properties as Auralex panels but half the cost...just a thought.

Update! I have another new chair, the "functional coffee table" which opens up and brings the table to you, and a small stump table. The next project is getting some memorabilia on the walls and to get a couple more pieces of furniture.

My wife insisted on displaying a guitar in the area between the first basement level and the lower level where the music room is:
