I used to listen to them a good bit. Now, the more I listen the more I get tired of his voice. Also, I think he tries to put as many metaphors into his songs as possible. I still dig them though.

My favorite record is probably "Cities". Pretty cool band.

their new guitar player Christian is a great guy and actually from a band that I enjoyed more- Acceptance. Look for the record "Phantoms", it's a fantastic full-length.

A few years back I had an album mastered by a guy up here in the PNW that also mastered Anberlin's first album Ready Fuels. I sat in on the mastering session, and after he finished we were just jawing a bit, and he says "check this new project out that I just finished!" He was totally stoked about it. I got to hear it right there and then, and it did indeed sound amazing.

That's my Anberlin story.

I saw (some of) those guys play a show once when they were in SaGoh 24/7.

Cool, how would you classify their music? My brothers say it's emo whenever I'm listening to it, but I think it has a lot more depth that a lot of so-called "emo" music.

Their first album is actually called Blueprints For The Black Market. Ready Fuels is a track on that record though...

Love 'em. They're great. Missed them live in my country though!

I like Godspeed, Feel good drag and a whole lot more of songs.

You're right...thanks for the correction. I remember listening to that track in the mastering room, and when the band lays back for two beats for that naked drum fill (after the first chorus, I think) I was just blown away. It sounded so perfect...

Hmmm...I saw them live over the summer and they were great. Maybe the new rhythm guitarist helped tighten things up?

I considered them a guilty pleasure a few years ago, but I was quickly and completely hooked.

i saw them live about a month back and i highly enjoyed them live, but the singing with all the overdubs they do is hard to reproduce live. also he seems to have a voice that sounds great in a studio setting more, but starts to break down when he has to push live. my band covered the unwinding cable car recently and it was a blast to play the 12 string guitar parts

I've traveled on the road supporting them and while that style of music may not be my thing, they always sounded powerful live. Christian is solid as a rock on that rhythm guitar and Nate (the drummer) is a real joy to watch.

All of them are the nicest guys and very level headed. I had a great time.
