Does PRS ever build w/ ebony fretboard?

OK, so I've read somewhere PRS takes orders. I assume I'd have to sell my sould to afford a custom-made PRS but I'm just curious: Do they ever build ebony fretboards ?

Not that I know of. If it's private stock you can ask for it. However that's a lot of coin to drop for an ebony guitar.

Depends. Do you consider Macassar Ebony to be the same as the black ebony you normally see on guitars? If so, then yes, they build with ebony if you are willing to spend the dough for an Artist package.

The 10th Anniversary guitars were made with ebony boards. Played one when they first came out (I was in college at the time). That's a guitar that I'd love to own.

The Artist Package guitars in '08 had Macassar Ebony boards.

I ordered a PRS back in 95 and they built it with an ebony board. It was a custom order, but it was an option then.

Used to. They were only taking orders for macassar ebony Artists for what seemed like less than 6 months, then they discontinued it. Bummer.

I have an SC245 AP with the macassar ebony fretboard. PRS accepted orders from NAMM 2008 (Jan) until April 30, 2008 when they stopped the Artist Package option. They are still at dealers and the ordered guitars are still coming from the factory.

Custom orders can now take more than a year or so from those who have done it.
