how much for a fret job?

i work at a guitar store and picked up a sweet guitar on the mega (and i do mean MEGA cheap), problem is it has some gouges in the frets....
one of my co-workers is a pretty good luthier as well and is going to fix the frets for me. my question is how much this would run for a normal luthier to do it, so that i can accurately guage how many lunches i owe this kick ass individual (he's also fixing a crack in one of my knock around acoustics and refinishing the neck and changing out the pickups of my s500).

Can be anywhere from $50 - $150 depending on the work and if they are stainless or not.

how deep are the gouges? do you need new frets? a lot more costly than a grind and polish. prices will vary. i've been quoted anywhere between $250-$500 for a fret job.

You could have a partial refret done if the guy is willing to do that and has some wire that's close to what you have on the guitar. How deep are the gouges?

If you need a full refret, it's cheaper if there's no neck binding. If a fret dress and level can do it, that could run up to 150 bucks.

A total fret job as an average I've seen around $200-$300 or more in some known luthiers, a redress and file around $100 or less
