I just got off the phone w/ Sean and asked him what made this one different. He said that most of the COT50's use a 1K pot, this one has a 5K pot with a resistor wired into it. This ends up expanding the range of the bias--- the low gain settings are lower, and the high gain settings go a little higher, and there's better spread of the the bias throughout the control range of the pot. Plus there's something else he has on the input of these which makes them sound a little different, more growl to it. Can't remember what it was though..

I'm trying to decide on this new Burst COT50 or a Keeler Pull... darn, he's not making it easy!

Not from the look of the pics-- they look to be the new silent switch, non-handwired design.

lol, I JUST bought an old handwired burst COT50!

I guess I have no choice but to buy one of these to compare. Or at least check to see which pot I have.

Are they really that different, that you would actually hear an appreciable difference between them live? Or is it so subtle that only the trained ear could tell?
