Which Eminence Speaker "cuts through"?

Looking for a replacement speaker for my MB Nomad - currently playing through a open back 1x12 extension cab loaded with the MB Black Shadow. When miked up, the Black Shadow sounds compressed without clarity or detail.

The Mesa has a Blackface-style tonestack on the Clean, but the two lead channels have the Bassman/Marshall style tonestack (center freq's, etc.)

Eminence seems to have way more than enough options - and they're pretty affordable.

I use mostly light to medium overdriven sounds for rock, country and blues. Think Beatles to SRV.

Which Speaker will mike-up well, and cut through the mix with classic, clear tones ?

Jensen C12N reissue - brilliance unmatched. I have one in a Boogie 1x12 and it sounds wonderful.
All the Emis I tried were far, far darker.

As far as I know, those amps came with the Eminence speaker that was made to Fender specs. The label that Eminence has on those is a recreation of the old Jensen C12N label from the 60's, but the speaker is diiferent. It (the Emi)has a heavier cone for one, which darkens the tone but increases the lifespan. The voicecoil is less sensitive as well. I dissected a smashed up UPS delivery to discover these differences in the 2 speakers.

Eminence speakers that cut through:

Governor - lots of mids efficient, sweet high end

Wizard - A little brighter, mids slightly scooped, most efficient of the line

Texas Heat - Less texture on the note when comparing to the above stuff, high end bite which some people really like, I liked this speaker in a open back cabinet

Red Rang - Nice upper mids alnico speaker, I like this a lot

Cannibas Rex - Hemp speaker, lots of mids but not like a Vintage 30, sweet high end, effcient, great speaker

Tonker: Very loud speaker with a tight bottom that does not color the tone of the amp. It works well with black face circuits, too.

Good luck in your search.

Governor cuts thru real nice with authority, I also have a Texas Heat around that sounds good and has enough mids to cut the mix!

i put an Eminence Private Jack in my F-30. it is great!!

i am dealing with EL84's and a small cabinet, so i was looking for a darker and bigger sounding speaker than the stock V30.

still, it sounds incredible!
