Lindy Fralin/ RS aged true 60's anyone?

Anyone tried these, any comments? I just snagged a set really cheap off our old friend ebay (the financial crunch is really biting isnt it?). Just wondered what to expect

I have an inbound goldtop (arriving Wednesday) that has those in it. I'll let ya know.....

Thing is, I really don't care for A5 pickups in Les Pauls as I find them to be too bright. Chances are good that, unless these really grab me immediately, I'll slide out the magnets and change them to A2 or A3 or, more likely, just yank the pickups altogether.

Had an uncovered set in a '58 LP reissue I used to own - very, very nice. Clear, articulate yet warm (a nice mid-range, but not overly so) with a hint of sizzle on the top of each note. Wonderful harmonics and musical feedback. I found them great for classic rock and blues.

No RS pickup uses an alnico V. True 60s use custom charged alnico II magnets.

I stand corrected. I asked the fellow who sold me the guitar.....perhaps not the best source, admittedly.

A2 is way cool in my book.....I look forward to hearing them.
