Sprague Orange Drop - 600V or 200V

I'm building a 2nd pickguard for my strat (SD Everything pups) and I have these Sprague Orange Drop .047 200 volt caps here - I see allparts also sells 600V caps. I would think the 200's are fine, right? Is there an advantage or reason to install one or the other?

The 200 V caps will do just fine.
You will hear no difference between the 600 V and the 200 V caps.
The difference is size and how much Voltage they can handle.

Yes and no....

The voltage rating will not affect the primary capitance value, but it does affect the construction, which in turn affects all the second order elements that make caps sound different, IOW all the values shown in this basic capacitor model below. So a 600V cap may sound different than a 200V cap for that reason, or it may be insignificant. You just have to listen.

I recently connected 3 different Orange Drops to a 3-way switch whitch I had outside my Strat.They rated either 600 V or 100 V at 0,1 uF.
I switched between them and they all sounded the same to me.
No audible difference.

Every guitar pickup>controls>cable>amp is a different circuit.....a very complex and interactive circuit. What may not be audible in one guitar/cable/amp network may be quite audible in another. But you did exactly what needs to be done to determine if you hear a difference.....for that guitar network.

I prefer the PS series polyester Orange Drops to the 715/716 series, which are polypropylene film, but the voltage is really not an issue, anything over 50 volts will probably be fine in a guitar.
