It is easy

To rework an existing humbucker route to fit a filtertron if you are using the Gretsch ring. If not or if you are starting from scratch as I suspect you may be, the rout is very similar to a P-90 rout. Whomever you choose needs to have a filterton on hand to verify the final fit. I dont think I have seen a filtertron routing template for sale anywhere but I could make you one. Here are a few I have done but they all were bucker route to begin with and used the rings.
Good luck on what sounds like a neat project.
Rob

those look neat. this is a standard telecaster body w/ tele pup routs that i would be using a pickguard and possibly the "savalas" bridge from tv jones- which is a tele bridge plate type bridge w/ a filtertron cut-out.

Sounds very cool

Sounds very cool. I want one of those bridges myself. Why dont you buy two of them, send me one with your body and guard. I'll rout them and pick up the return shipping. Eh?
Think about it,
Rob

Nice looking set-neck Teles, Rob. The 12 string is pretty cool too!

Thanks, Dana O.

Yes. Do it right with a router or take Rhomco up on his very generous offer. He obviously knows his way around the shop.
