Wampler Pedals....Best customer service ever!

Recently placed an order for a plextortion from Brian Wampler. Recieved a prompt email after order from Cathy and was told it would be ready in about two weeks time. About 10 days later I recieved another email saying the purple casing would not be available for a few weeks but I was welcome to change colors. I was offered a full refund or a change in color of the pedal. I chose not to do that and asked instead if a newer version of the plextortion was coming out soon.

I was told the 3rd generation would be out shortly and would be called the super plextortion. I was offered the option of converting my previous order to the newer version and receieved the pedal over the weekend. The new pedal isnt even on his website as of yet or last I checked anyway. Have not had a chance to put the pedal thru its paces yet but was very impressed by the customer service as even Brian himself emailed back with a few questions I had.

Just wanted to give him and his company kudos for an easy transaction and to let everyone else know to deal with him in confidence.

DUDE!
SUPER PLEXTORTION REVIEW!
ASAP!

I sent back the new PlexiDrive I got and requested the new Super Ecstasy. I get a lot of my British sounds out of the CrankedAC and BSIAB II, so I was thinking the Plextortion might be more of the same; I'm really intrigued by it now and would love to hear a response on the Super Plextortion.

EDIT: Yes, Brian is the man. Best service I've had from a business in a long time. He actually called when my CrankedAC took so long and was more than helpful exchanging the PlexiDrive.

I'm right at pulling the trigger on this pedal.. must suck to have it and no amp huh?

The new youtube vid is out on it:

Sounds pretty great!! So far, Brian has been quick to respond to my emails. Seems like a good company.
I'm finding the Pinnacle 2 to be a serious contender too.

I can't decide between the new Super Plexitortion, Cranked AC and Pinnacle2. I want a good lower gain tone that responds to dynamics. Having a high gain option is ok to have as well.

Yes if you want that Plexi tone out of just about any amp, that is the pedal to get.

Yeah was kind of unforseen how it worked out. I never expected the pedal to rech me so fast. But I highly recommend Wampler and his company. Top notch all the way

That youtube video sounds absolutely great. Cant wait to try it out

A friend of mine from grade school always said, 'it's nice to be nice to the nice', and 'it's good to be good to the good'.
Bless you Jay.

Greensboro, eh? Great city. I went to UNC-G, but that's another story altogether. Lived on Spring Garden St, a couple of blocks down from Tate. One of the few cities that still has a decent Music Loft. Check out my cousin (Kit Dean) sometime playing guitar/singing for the Crap Rock Allstars around G'boro.

Back on topic:
The only reason I haven't jumped on a Pinnacle2 is that I have all ideas that it is a suped-up BSIAB II (or at least inspired by), which I already have. People that have the Pinnacle2 love it.
But I can't say it enough how the CrankedAC has a great range of low-med-med/high gain and tone control. Not just a 'Voxy sound', it has a great distortion tone.
Any of those three mentioned should cover you pretty well, but I'm jonesing for the Super Plextortion now. LOVE these small footprint cases!

Brian is cool, he modded my Plextortion to meet my requirements...you dont see that too often

the Plextortion is really cool there is no discernible clippng at all
it is extremely smooth and clear sounding while adding gain and sustain

yes very responsive to pick attack

very unique pedal

Its just really refreshing to have that kind of feedback from a builder. In this day and age where everything is automated responses its great to still find that.

I know in the guitar industry there are quite a few smaller boutique builders so we tend to get spoiled over time by it. But once you have to deal with a big firm and wait on the phone for an hour to speak to a rep who knows nothing but whats written in front of him/her you appreciate the extra effort these builders put in.

Going that extra mile goes along way to building a business for sure.
