Smile Ulbrick 12AXE!

Members of TGP,

I read some about this OD pedal in Premier Guitar. It comes from Down
Under. I know it's a long shot, but has anyone played though one? Any
opinions welcome.

A search for 12AXE should give some info. I also have seen Robben Ford using one.
cheers

Here's a track I recorded using just a Strat, a little Fender Super Champ, and an Ulbrick 12AXE. http://soundclick.com/share?songid=5393752

The 12AXE is one of the best overdrives I've ever heard.

Cheers.................................. wahwah

That track sounds great Geoff. Killer drive sound, as you've indicated. It helps to have a great player in front of it too!

I had one for a while. Very nice variation on a TS. Good low/med OD tones, very amp-like.

I sold it because I had other pedals that covered similar tonal territory. For $300 it's high priced IMHO, considering that for $375 you can get a Kingsley Jester with 2 tubes and a boost and OD, each with 3 settings.

I have a 12axe Phataxe, whch is a slightly fatter-voiced 12axe. It sounds a LOT like my modded BYOC Screamer. But The 12axe is perhaps a touch more subtle. It's beautifully built and a good TS alternative.
