Out-of-style, ho-hum pedals you really like

I've got some ultra-trendy OD's, but I'm surprised how much I still like my old FT Fat Boost. Crank the gain on it and it's got some really nice grit. Nice for crunchy rhythm stuff too.

DS-1 (Keeley).

I've got some great new ODs, but the Boss holds up surprisingly well,

Line6 DL4, it's the older model with the black line6 logo, and I don't know if it is more reliable than the newer ones, but it hasn't broken yet and I love it for looping.

Old mid 80's (usa made) DOD FX65 Stereo Chorus. I bought it at a garage sale 15 or so years ago for a dollar. I've tried several other chorus pedals but that one has been a constant in my rig for a long time.

Combining it with a Phase 90 yields a very convincing Univibe tone as well..................

Proco Rat.

I've probably had 6 or 7 Rats over the years. Everytime I sell one to get other ODs, I always end up rebuying one. For now on, I will always keep a Rat lying around even if i'm not constantly using it...

Dunlop 535q wah. Stone stock. Works perfect for me. Never even had to tweak the rack.

On my board I still have the first pedal I ever bought: DOD Overdrive 250. Got in in 1984 at the age of 15. Indestructible box and weighs a ton - you could commit homicide with it if you don't like the way it sounds. Probably been through 5 bypass switches over the years, a handful of pots, jacks, and even the op-amp went down once. Now it's true bypass w/an LED indicator too.

+1 on the sd-1, I've had people look at me in surprise when they see where my od is coming from.
