Greyboy AllStars fans?

Any Greyboy AllStars fans on here? They got the acid jazz, funky, groovy thing going on. Just curious if others around here are fans. Robert Walter, Karl Denson, Elgin Park (Mike Andrews) are all great players.

Yeah, I getting more and more into them recently too. I like Karl's Tiny Universe stuff, but Greyboy is a little more slick to me. Good stuff!

The GreyBoy Allstars are one of my all-time favorite bands. They are a great live band and have an awesome groove. I first saw them play at Irving Plaza in the mid-90's and have seen them play a couple dozen times over the years. Some of their best shows were in Burlington Vermont in the lat 90's when Melvin Sparks sat in.

I love them. I saw them in Vancouver earlier this year... and just saw Karl with Lenny Kravitz a few weeks ago in Calgary too. Very talented bunch of guys with a great groove. Robert Walter is a B3 (or A100) monster.

Wish I could have caught one of those with Melvin Sparks.

Love their stuff. Especially fond of Robert. Got turned on to them about 10 years ago when someone played that live CD for me.

love GBA! Got all the cd's and some live recordings as well. I like Mike (Elgin)'s laid back style. He has actually produced some good soundtracks and has a very cool mellow solo cd.
Robert brings it!

I love their music. Great grooves. Another band I have recently gotten into is Porter, Batiste and Stoltz from the Funky Meeters.

They are top shelf music for me. I always want to find/form a band like that, then I remember that 1) I suck, and 2) it would take me 100 years to find that sort of talent....

If you like the Greyboy Allstars...

Make sure to check out Robert Walters and Karl Denson's solo CD's too.

Also, pick up Stanton Moore's solo CD's, as he has Robert walters on the keys.

All of those guys are very cool to hang out with. Very down to earth.

Not to hijack, or shamelessly promote myself...
but in the same vein of Greyboy is my group, Nautilus...

www.myspace.com/nautilusvibes

5 of the 6 songs up there are live from the other night, great show and good soundboard/crowd recording I got up there. Friend and guest guitarist from Raisinhead, Rob Beaulieu joined us for a few songs as well.
Facedown is my most recent composition, and The Hamsteak is my keys players most recent.
