What amps match well with Firebirds?

So P90s like Fender Tweeds, Les Pauls love Marshalls, etc.

What type of amps/circuits do Firebirds really sound their best with?

Ampeg VT-40 is better than you'd think. I think any FB player needs a booster when trying different amps. The output is a bit low and you might think you have a bad pairing, when it's just a lack of volts.

If so do you boost it up, is there a fave effects pedal?

Doesn't everything sound good through AC-30s?

Is that just me?

A Firebird into a tweed Deluxe is a pretty wicked combination.

I run a FBV into a JMP, sweet tone. you'd think it would have a creamish tone but not really, a hint of it but sort of it's own thing going

I should have made the distinction of Firebirds with normal Firebird pups versus ones with P90s. I am considering gettting a Firsbird but haven;'t quite decided between the P90s of a nonreverse custom shop FB or a reverse FB with either P90s or minihums.

The only thing that I am used to is the neck heaviness, tipsy tipsy...

I run my Firebird into either my 18 watt GDS amp or my Ceriatone Liverpool Trainwreck, both are EL84 amps. Lots of top end on this combination.

I had one with mini hums and thought it sounded best through my Ampeg Reverberocket, turned up. I would think any cathode biased amp pushed to the point of compression would do the trick.

Try the pickup trick of slanting your bridge pickup so that your strings run parallel over the pickup. You'll get more power and it will take some of the brightness off. Firebirds should come from the factory like this, but you know how it goes.

I've got a 'Bird w/NOS Lawrence mini-hums from the 70s.

Not sure if it's just me, but it kicks ass with every amp I've tried.

Currently have a JTM45 (KT66), Fuchs ODS-30HT (6L6), Trainwreck Express (EL34)....smokes with every one of them !

LOVE a 'Bird !!!!!!! :BEER
