My Dumble style amp finally. TwoRock videos.

As some of you have known, I have been on the search for what IMO is the smoothest, most refined Dumble type of amp I could find. After trying almost everything under the sun, these amps to me are the best I have played. All twoRocks believe it or not. I do not have the recording capabilities that most have, but this is the best i could do, and to my ear, very accurately represents the tones I am hearing in person in front of the amps. I think that most anyone who purchased one of these amps based on these clips, would be very happy with their purchase. Here is the Emerald Pro (possibly my favorite overdriven tone) A/bd with an emerald Pro prototype, whos clips i have loved from almost 9 years ago. I think you can easily hear the "straining and tubey" sounds as I describe them. I was FINALLY able to purchase that amp! Emerald Pro first, Emerald Pro protype second. Both amps are as smooth as you can get, with the Proto being a bit brighter and having a bit more lower end grind.

This is the newest twoRock, the Type III, compared to the E.Pro Prototype. To me, the Type III is the best overal amp, as it can cop so many different types of Dumble style tones. the feel is the best, as it has dual tube rectifiers instead of solid state ones. It seems to be a great balance of being tight enough when overdriven, yet rubbery enough for a great feel in the cleans.

All three of these amps are off the charts as far as overdriven tones, and can get the tones from ear bleed level, all the way to whisper quiet. Amazing really.

Good stuff and even better playing Tag!

I liked the full bodied lows of the Type III alot more than the Emmy which I found to be lacking in bass. That was how I felt when it was here.

On the other hand, the HRM amps have more top end articulation than non HRM and that shows as well.

Now, combine the two amps, somehow, and you'd have my winner!

Happy New Years btw!

I like how the headstock looks like it's talking while you play.

Killer sound all a round.

Nice! I like the sound of all of them. Was the gain on the Type 3 set as high as on the proto?

Man those amps sound great & cool playing...so you been practicing while not visiting here the past few months.

I liked the Emmy Pro best maybe. It was all very very good though.

Nice tone! Congrats on the amps. The EmPro still does the RF tones the best imo.

Happy new year to you Tag

Great playing, and very nice tones.

The Emmy grabbed me just a tad more. Sounded more open. It could do with a nats more bass to make it bit richer, but I reckon that would sing lovely live. The Type III might get lost a little in the mix.

The THD is visible in those clips. Is that what you were playing through?

Thanks Scott, you too! Here is the winning combination. The Prototype into the Tonetubby. It is the PERFECT match. BRIGHT as you like it, but ZERO harshness, with all of those elusive muscular low mids. This amp is dead on. It NEEDS the tubbies, as its just to bright with other speakers. The original Eddie berman clips of this amp was with the tubbie, and that is the KEY element. The amp was designed for this speaker. WHAT a tone! Vintage Ford city. You HAVE to try this amp in person! Its bright enough for you, and smooth enough for me! The mids are so juicy, I have to put a cup under it so I will not stain my new carpet!

They were all about 12 Oclock on the gain. I just dialed them into how I liked it. they type III was the only one with the midswitch on.

That sounds dead on with this amp in the room.

Yes, the THD with 2 twoRock 65 speakers. The Type III has a contour knob on both the lead and clean channels. You can make this thing as bright or as dark as you like. I had it cut back by more than 1/2 for the way I like it. You can get it so bright it will make your ears bleed, just by turning the knob!

Thanks to all you killer players for listening and commenting, and I am glad that most of you liked it. Happy New year! :BEER

Loved em all. The Emmy ahead by a gnats', tho i'm sure all manner of sick tones can be dialled in to the TIII.

Rockin!

Nice Tag, sweet tone and great playing. I prefer the first one (Emmy Pro? For "strict" RF tones) but I much prefer the second one (proto?) for everything else you played. Sounds like it would cut onstage great too. I'd love to hear some clips with less verb and some clean / edge of breakup as well.
Anyway, glad you're back and adding great stuff to TGP.
