Best cab for a 50 watt Marshall for classic rock rhythm tones?

2x12 open back w/ Alnico Weber Silver Bells or 2x12 closed back ported w/ one Scumback M75 and one Alnico Weber Silver Bell?

4X12 with greenbacks. that's what everyone keeps telling me to get for my JMP50.

I have used a oversized 1x12 open back with a G1265, a marshall 8x10 a fender bassman 2x12 with canabis rex and 4x12's with quads of G1275's , GB or G12H55hz and they all sound like classic rock. even had a 6 x10 silvertone with jensens. Each had there place , the 75 always seemed best for floyd, the H nailed hendrix clean tones, the 8x10 was it own thing. point is a 50 watt 1987 matched with the technique will give you the tone. speakers are the icing

I'll go with this answer. Scumbacks or Scumnicos if you're going for the full vintage flavor in a new speaker. I prefer Ms but you might like Hs either will do. My personal favorite is four 30 watt Scumnicos.

Right on! I have the M75 series in my 1x12, 2x12, and 4x12. I dont need any other speakers for that classic rock tone.
