Joe Bonamassa Suggestions (Lessons DVD)

What is a good lessons DVD to get from Joe B? Please suggest any and all you guys have used that have helped with soloing in the JB/EJ styles. I'm sick of what I do and need to expand on the fretboard.

Thanks,
Bill

Skip on the JB DVDs and grab the EJ The Art of Guitar Series.

I am a huge fan of Both JB/EJ.. I have all of Joes CD's and DVD's and Erics. Joe's instruction DVD's are really more about his rig and tone than technique (there is some, just not much ) .. his Hot licks VHS is when he was real young Not much like he plays now, and his ability to explain back then was kinda lacking... So if you are wanting method Go with the Eric Johnson DVD's alot of great stuff in there.. But the Bonamassa Vids are fun regardless. Signature sounds was great ...Enjoy..

Maybe we need to start an "I'm tired of the way I play" Club.. seems to be all i say anymore..

Edit ..... Do get Joe's Tab Book though!!! www.Jbonamassa.com great!!!

I completely agree and I hope I didn't come off as a JB hater! I just think the EJ vids are fantastic!

Nah!! The Dude can play his ass off and is very well versed.. I think that he is chasing so much, in sound and composition it is hard for him to nail down something solid to Teach people..LOL ... Kinda like Music A.D.D. His rig changes Every week cept the Marshall... But his tone just gets More Rude and Better Every Show.. Cant wait for the new Album.. He has to be catching up with the Stones soon on realeses LOL .. Love it..

I've been listening to his Live from Nowhere in Particular pretty much continuously for a couple weeks now. It's just mind-blowing. I'd largely given up on electric blues. Just did not like much of it at all, but Joe's made me a fan again. For one thing, to me, he sounds nothing like SRV. I hear a lot of EJ, Clapton, Page, and some Duane Allman. His tone and phrasing on "So Many Roads" is incredibly musical, but the whole disk is that way.

It'd be nice to see him do a real lesson video, where he just goes through some tunes bar by bar and shows what he did and, more importantly, why he did it.
