Autumn09, for the application you mentioned, I would suggest a Radial Tonebone ABY, inexpensive and very effective.

Radial Tonebone Switchbone ABY. Hard to beat, especially for the price, in an active splitter.

The BS-2 from www.axess-electronics.com seems to fit the bill. Properly buffered, transformer isolated 2nd output (to kill ground loops). Just make sure to keep the two fx chains separated (use separate power sources/daisy chains etc), so you're not undoing the transformer isolation. The BS-2 can share power supply with chain A (the one that isn'ẗ fed from the isolated output), but not with the other.

The above mentioned is great and would definitely work for you. But if all you want to do is effectively split your signal in two, this is even less expensive and has all the features you need, with impressive quality: http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/p...her?sku=153931 |

When used as a "Y" I wouldn't suggest using a passive box. The active Switchbone (and most of the other active boxes suggested) will isolate the two signal paths, as well as compensate for volume loss.
