Specifically, how much tone does this thing suck when engaged? Can I plug directly into the front end of my amp without it completely ruining the tone of the guitar with AD/DA converters?
Please don't post a link of the big M13 thread, or suggest that I do a search. Cheers! |

It's True bypass (and not something like hard bypass or those other misleading terms, its actually true bypass), so no tone suckaged when bypass. However your question is when it is engaged, and to my ears little to none. In some settings it does (i.e. mod sounds), but some delay models are actually meant for you signal to be completely uncolored (they have "thru" in name). Hope it helps, and you should learn to search and not be so lazy. ;-)

You can set it for true bypass or not. I don't find the advantage of using it in true bypass mode just because I always have at least one effect on. I have never thought that the tone suck was something bad. I wont say there is none but I am also one of those guys who doesn't check for tone suck in every single pedal. If something is really noticable then I address it but I have never thought of the M13 as an offender.

I think it sucks way less tone than routing your signal through a handful of drive, mod, delay pedals with all the extra jacks/cable etc. I like the buffer personally, even with nothing is being used in the M13. I would guess that it is no worse than running through a DL-4.
