Sewell owners? Tubes?

I am still in love with my Sewell Texaplex 50! It's building up some hours and was wondering whether or not to invest in some n.o.s.?

cheers!

Mine sounds great stock, I think I'll retube with whatever Doug put in it.

I love my Texaplex, it's my main amp and I've had tons of high end amps. I have the last Sewell coming that Doug is making, a 50 watt Texaverb.

Maybe not relevant ... in my Wampus Cat, JJ 6L6GC sound just about perfect. I have gone NOS in the preamp, 5751 in V1, I think a mazda 12ax7 in V2. I too love my Sewell. It has some strong competition in the house right now, but remains my #1 amp for gigging. Sounds too good to leave home.

JJ E34L for power tubes and JJ 12ax7 (ec883-s) for preamp.....this combination of tubes seems to be working really well for me. the e34L's keep a bit more headroom and low end while the ec883-s give a nice bark to the amp when its really driven.

::Tone::

I love my Texaplex 25...I think they are still stock tubes...If not it sure sounds amazing...I wish i could of found out about Sewell amps sooner...Im sure the new Sewell/PRS amps will be pretty darn expensive...

I have a Texaverb 15 with JJ el84's and stock preamp tubes. It sounds amazing and I tried NOS through out and went back to the stock tubes. I did put a EI in v1 and it sounded better. Great amp with super sweet cleans and OD.
